David versus Goliath

Never in modern world politics has the presidential election of any country gotten the world so riveted and on edge like the just-concluded U. S presidential election tug of war between Donald J. Trump (Republican) and Hillary Clinton (Democrat). Going into the campaign the odds were heavily stacked against Trump. Most political observers saw it as a clear and quick win for Clinton the favorite, and that Trump stood no chance. So, when the election was over and Mr. Trump had trounced the favorite most people where left scratching their heads, astonished and wondering what just happened.

Letter to Oronto Douglas

When news of the demise of former president Goodluck Jonathan’s Special Adviser on Research, Documentation and Strategy broke Nigeria was shocked. No one (at least not the general public) saw it coming. A lawyer and committed environmentalist, Mr. Douglas was a commissioner for information in Bayelsa state before joining the Jonathan administration as top aide and confidant to the President.

Mr. Douglas was my good friend, and a great man in his own right. He left a giant footprint on the sands of time. His good works abound everywhere on the Internet and books. This is my eulogy for him. Enjoy.
